ACPC Urges Support For RFE/RL North Caucasus Service

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC) calls upon the Bush administration and the State Department to support and immediately begin broadcasting the proposed RFE/RL North Caucasus news service.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), which oversees Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, recently decided to delay the RFE/RL's proposed North Caucasus service for one month. The delay is a result of pressure from the State Department, which is concerned that the service will show American partiality towards Chechnya in the current Russo-Chechen war. "Although the U.S. government is concerned about remaining impartial in the current conflict, delaying or canceling the service could be viewed by some as an act of partiality favoring Russian actions in Chechnya," said Glen Howard, the executive director of ACPC.

In light of recent reports by Doctors Without Borders (news - web sites), Human Rights Watch, and the Russian NGO Memorial, the delay is significant. These reports confirm the continued occurrence of looting, killing, tortures, 'cleansing operations', and forced disappearances by the Russian military in Chechnya. The reports also state that many of the 400,000 Chechen refugees live in caves, abandoned warehouses, and camps in Chechnya and neighboring Ingushetia. "The decision to delay broadcasting will dishearten the thousands of Chechen refugees made homeless by the war," said Howard, adding that the "Chechen language and culture are on the brink of extermination."

The service was scheduled to begin this Thursday, February 28, 2002 and would have been broadcast from Prague in Avar, Chechen, and Circassian languages for only 15 minutes a day in each language. At the moment, news about the North Caucasus is broadcast only in Russian language and the proposed RFE/RL service was intended to reach a broader audience among local ethnicities. "The RFE/RL news service would not have been partial, or excessive in light of the limited media coverage in the North Caucasus. The daily broadcasts would have been a singular source for outside news and a signal that the United States remains committed to assisting the citizens in Chechnya find a resolution to their suffering and a peaceful end to the war," said Howard.

The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya, a nonpartisan, nonprofit, private organization chaired by Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, Alexander M. Haig, Jr. and Ambassador Max M. Kampelman, represents nearly 100 distinguished Americans including academics, journalists, politicians, and foreign policy experts, and is dedicated to promoting a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Maybe RFE/RL will broadcast the following Chechen greatest torture hits videos.

**WARNING** These extremely disturbing videos show victims kidnapped by rebels from the breakaway Russian republic of Chechnya. They were made by the terrorists themselves in order to reinforce their ransom demands. They show Throat cut and decapitation, Decapitation with an axe, Finger shot off, Beatings and intimidation, Infant torture, Finger cut off with a knife and more. I could not view more than the thumbnails to the videos of what these al-Qaeda allied Chechen terrorists did to those Russian men women and children. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN VIEWING THESE VIDEOS!

Private organization? Well the American public may not like who the private backers of this front group are. I hope some of my fellow American's who will sacrifice sleepless nights viewing those Chechen made torture videos give Matthew Brady of the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (news - web sites), 202-296-5101, ext. 134 a call and "discuss" the issue with him.

Heres a big wake up call...
Read Zbigniew Brzezinski's fantasmagorical CFR work
" The Grand Chessboard"- American Primacy and its Geostrategic Imperatives.

There are alot of loony bin NWO sites..lots of spin..and lots of hysteria.
But there are sites that analyse CFR protocalls..track implementation thru the various Whitehouse admins...
You won't be scratching your head wondering why such and such nation re-alligned..or why such nation completely departed from its previos bloc partnerships ..or why certain nations who continually undermined the U.S. and had vaunting power now slurp the trough and keep their mouths shut when the U.S. moves it chess pieces.

when the U.S. moves it chess pieces.

Russia moves her chess piece:

CHECK Russia May Recognize the Independence of Georgia's Breakaway Provinces if US Deploys Troops There

and Russia moves another Chess piece:

This past weekend during a visit to Finland, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew a comparison between the situation of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia and that of ethnic Russians in the Baltics. Putin noted that if greater language and political rights are being extended to one minority (ethnic Albanians) in a Balkan country, the same ought to be done for another (ethnic Russians) in the Baltic states. Is this a fair comparison or just another pressure tactic from Moscow toward its small neighbors?

CHECK MATE!

CFR envisions a seperation of Eurasia from Asia.
By placing U.S. assets in a arrayed front ..thus having control stategically of both sectors.
Afgansistan..Turkey..Georgia..Uzbekastan.. etc
Part of the reason the U.S. is in Afganistan..and why it is really not to concerned with the drug trade or Islam...just being there is what counts for now.
Russia will end game America by de-stabilizing the mid-east.
I watched a program..very legit.
In 1973 the Russians paid a visit to Egypt..said their intel had Israeli troops massing on the Syrian border.
Egypt went to her photo recon docs and said no way.
Moscow then went to Eschol the Premier of Israel..."Why are you massing troops on the Syrian border"?...Eschol said we are not..lets go together I will show you.
Moscow played this hand continually for weeks..thus decieving Egypt and Syria into an Invasion option.
This was done soley to humiliate and weaken the U.S. who was calculated to be too weak and divided from the Vietnam war.
Moscow knew Israel would recover and win..they only wanted to continue the "Power Chess game"..kind of.."Have you forgotten us lately America..we have power and influence..take a look"!

It's in Russia's interest to have Pakistan and India flare up..making the U.S. run to salvage control..and spend volumes of money.
The same goes for the mid-east and terrorism....Russia is removed from focus as a manipulator..that falls on the U.S...as the U.S. is dragged into many realities via oil and Arabic political machinations...America is stretched strategically..and forced to spend enormous sums of money... Russia sits back and smirks.

There seem to be a lot of dinosaur cold warriors with "castration" issues in Russia. Recognize Abkhazia? What about Chechnya. They're reaching, acting out old fears. And they don't have Free Republic.

Watch what Putin says.

No, America is cleaning up Georgia's allegiances to fundies. Probably spurred by corruption, mafia, bribery by the Saudis who wanted to keep the region unstable. How do Chechen rebels get from Afstan to Chechnya? Iran - Azerbaijan - Georgia.

Putin knows, but it seems some of the Russian cold warriors and big mouths don't understand that this is a good move for them. What better than to take out Chechen rebels southern supply route? Russians couldn't do it.

Thanks for the excellent info links...this post and the Saudi/Carlyle arrangement.

Taped an series years back..based on a landmark work by author Daniel Yergin..called "The prize".
The first part dealt with WW-2..and showed how Germany and Japan went to their ruin..over oil.

Hitler was obsessed with getting "Mienkop"..the Caspian district oil reserves.
Rommel was to swing up from Palestine and get it..he failed...Russian blocked the Eastward gambit...Germany was Doomed.
Japan..totally exhausted...hundreds of pine tree's cut down to crush their root system..to obtain "Turpentine"..enough to fuel a Kamikaze for a one way trip to a U.S warship off Okinawa.

Stange world we live in...The Gulf Arabs could make a killing financially....yet they go for the "Brinkmanship" thing..lets destroy Israel...who cares if they have Nuclear weapons.
America....clearly there is oil in the Cacuses..but is it worth going if it pushes Russia into some WW-2 paranoic station.
Dwelling near the "Soft underbelly" of Asia cannot be comforting to Russia or China.
China must be thinking...Geez...we just got rid of you [Vietnam]..we are not invading Tiawan..or South Korea..and now your screwing around in Afganistan..and making inroads in places you are not welcome.
I'm 42...if I make it to 65-70 with no nukes going off over North America..I will in fact say to others.."Yes..I am a lottery winner..I'm rich"!

"To many people..causing to many problems...and not enough oil to go around"!....[my abridged version of the song]

Hey, the best way to prove that USA is not siding with Russians in their fight is to help Chechen, Arab and Al-Qaeda fighters in Chechnya OPENLY with weapons and intructors like it was done for KLA in Kosovo. Limiting the help to the broadcast only shows lack of resolve and weakness.

neutrino, check out the link provided by Spar in #1. Those videos were made by the Chechens themselves. The videos are evil and are not easily viewed, that can only have been made by people in touch with the spirit of Satan.
